Isuzu Dura-Mission: Exploring Malaysia’s natural beauty in the D-Max
Isuzu Malaysia Sdn Bhd (IMSB), held the highly anticipated Isuzu Dura-Mission: Ba'Kelalan-Maliau Basin 09 adventurous expedition trip, which was an adventurous off-road drive in the Isuzu D-Max which began in Ba'Kelalan and ended in Maliau Basin in East Malaysia, aiming to explore some of the most beautiful places in East Malaysia in the conquering Isuzu D-Max.
All the Isuzu D-Max were in standard form and trim, with the exception of a couple of add-ons such as Goodyear Stud Tire Grip tyres for better traction and grip especially through muddy stretches, longer shackles for a slightly better ground clearance, and sidesteps to help with getting in and out of the D-Max's cabin.
After the first day, few of the convoy members sang praises about the D-Max's transmission that did an excellent job in transmitting huge amounts of low-end torque to the wheels in four-wheel-drive mode, coupled with the well-matched gear ratios, the 3-litre force-fed induction engine's torque and power delivery on difficult
terrain was impressive to say the least, which provided for a heightened driving experience on a challenging beaten track.
On the tarmac, the D-Max was well-mannered and the drive was a rather pleasurable one as it cruised effortlessly on the gravel tarmac. The suspension and ergonomic seats contributed to an appreciation of the level of comfort to be enjoyed while seated in the D-Max's cabin.
Throughout the four days of the Dura-Mission, the Isuzu D-Max yet again proved that it is a versatile, formidable and capable 4x4 twin cab pick-up truck that can conquer distance and terrain without fuss while providing an awesome experience to cherish.
