FOR Naza TTDI Sdn Bhd group managing director Faliq Nasimuddin, earning a solid reputation as a reliable property developer is far more important than simply selling developments.

Faliq: Wants global standards to be followed

“I have made it clear to all my staff that we should be following standards recognised by regional and global authorities,” he said at his office in Shah Alam yesterday.

“There’s no point simply benchmarking against other local players if we want to keep improving ourselves. We should instead be setting new standards.” It is with this passion to be the best that drives Faliq to take on projects that seem so visionary, as he keenly gets advice and help from abroad.

“For our Platinum Park project, we got Fosters and Partners from the UK to be the architects. We also got international standard landscaping from Las Vegas. “They may be expensive, but the knowledge and experience are worth the expense as we can translate all this to our next projects.”

This outlook has already drawn admiration for the young corporate leader, five years after the property developer became part of the Naza group. Next week, the group will be receiving its latest accolades in the form of the CNBC Asia Pacific property awards for best residential apartments (TTDI Plaza) and best development website — having garnered a string of other regional awards in recent years, “We already have a flagship development in Taman Tun Dr Ismail.

We would like to repeat that success elsewhere. “But, since we now have a small landbank of only about 500 acres in very strategic areas, it makes sense to also take on very premium projects.” Faliq also said the group’s focus on quality service continues even after the delivery. “Our defect complaints rate within the 24-month warranty period is minimal and we will still attend to major issues if we receive complaints years later.”
