MANOHARA ISSUE: Now it’s father vs father
Juergen Reiner Noack-Pinot Pinot, 66, who spent four months in jail last year in France for sexually assaulting Manohara's adopted sister known as Saliha, arrived in Jakarta last Thursday - taking the saga to another level of high-profile intrigue.
In the meantime, Manohara's biological father George Manz, 58, is threatening to get the US State Department involved because 17-year-old Manohara is a US citizen.
Pinot's presence in Jakarta has not gone down well with many quarters there because he is a sexual offender.
Further, he confessed in court that he was forced by Daisy to caress Saliha's body in front of her after undressing the girl.
He had also told the court he was too scared of Daisy to stop her, acts of violence against Saliha, now 25.
Ironically, Daisy has welcomed Pinot with open arms, pitching him in the ring against Manz, whom she has now accused of serving time in a Singapore prison for cocaine consumption.
Speculation is rife that Daisy is also using Pinot to help her avoid serving 18 months in jail in France.
"I see him as trying to emerge hero by taking the whole blame in the Saliha affair, thereby convincing
the Indonesian government that she was wrongly sentenced in absentia," said Indonesian journalist
Heryanto.
France wants her back to serve the jail term for "submitting a vulnerable and dependent person to undignified working conditions and assault since 1998".
Daisy was also found guilty of facilitating the sexual abuse of a domestic servant, who was also legally her stepdaughter (Saliha), by Pinot.
The allegations of rape, including forcible masturbation, were subsequently proven and Pinot served the jail term.
Daisy told Indonesian media over the weekend that Pinot is in Jakarta to lend support to Manohara over recent reports that Manz has sided with Tengku Temenggong Muhammad Fakhry, 32, who is Manohara's husband.
Pinot wants to take Manohara to Europe to further her education in arts and economics.
Manz in an immediate response told Malay Mail last night: "It is obviously a bad idea as everyone knows that he is a convicted sexual offender.
"How is he capable of taking care of her?"
Manz had in a recent letter to Tengku Fakhry said he was the right person to take care of Manohara, pledging to help him get her back to Malaysia.
The letter ended: "My wishes are that Manohara is freed from her evil mother."
He had last week told Malay Mail that Daisy was also a proponent of black magic and has an evil hold over his daughter.
Daisy hit back two days later, saying she was shocked by Manz's stand to defend the Kelantan royalty,
accusing him of being abusive to her and her then young child.
Manohara made international headlines after Daisy claimed her daughter had been abducted and abused by her husband.
However, they have not made a police report yet and despite boasting a battery of lawyers, have not instituted legal proceedings.
Both mother and daughter became instant celebrities after "escaping" from the prince on May 31 in Singapore where they had gone to visit the Sultan of Kelantan in hospital.
Tengku Fakhry has filed a police report in Malaysia against his estranged wife, accusing her of making false allegations.
He recently filed two applications in the Kelantan syariah court - one seeking reconciliation with his 17-year-old wife and the other ordering Daisy and Manohara to pay him RM972,750 that he claims they owe him.
Pinot’s trial highlights:
• Admitted in court that he had been forced by his wife Daisy to caress her adopted daughter’s body in front of her after undressing the girl.
• Admitted that he had started in February, 2007, caressing the girl, kissing her, and touching her breast “everyday a little bit more”.
• Saliha, a virgin until then, managed to avoid him several times before she gave in and had sex with Pinot.
• Caught in the act with Saliha by Daisy who claimed she was hurt when she learned of Pinot’s affair between March and April 2007.
• In his testimony, he claimed that he was too scared of Daisy to stop her acts of violence against the girl.
• During his time in Jakarta, Pinot would accompany Manohara to shoots on her new soap opera, “Manohara,” for which she has been offered a massive Rp2.5 billion (RM865,285) contract for the series.
• Pinot is also now being accused by certain quarters of cashing in on Manohara’s publicity, along with the 17-year-old and Daisy.
Manz fires back
MANOHARA’s biological father George Manz has rubbished claims that he had served time in Singapore for cocaine consumption.“I have never been arrested before and I get travel visas easily. This would not be possible if I had a criminal record.
“As I have said before, Daisy is all lies and if she continues telling all these lies about me, I will sue her for defamation,” Manz said in a telephone interview from Canada.
Daisy had hit back at Manz saying he was a cocaine user, alcoholic and had abused both Manohara and her after he had described her as an “evil woman”.
He had also said she dabbled in black magic, giving details of diamond studs embedded in her chin.
He said he was sad to hear that Juergen Reiner Noack-Pinot was planning to take Manohara to Europe.
He said this was all “Daisy’s brainwashing of Manohara”. — By G. Prakash
Daisy and her husbands
JUST when everybody thought or was led to believe that Daisy Fajarina had dumped her convicted sexual offender husband, he shows up in Jakarta.
A media frenzy began when Juergen Reiner Noack-Pinot, 66, a Frenchman, arrived in Jakarta last Thursday and reports suggested that they looked a normal couple and father “totally in love with his daughter.”
The couple reportedly will stick together during these trying times although they plan to divorce in the near future.
Daisy, 44, has had several failed relationships. Her first husband was Edy, an Indonesian, followed by American George Manz.
Manz is the biological father of Manohara. Daisy took Manohara away from him when she was aged two, 15 years ago.
She then married Thomas Klouman from Norway followed by Pinot. Manohara carries the name Pinot until now although her personal documents, including the US passport, carries the Manz surname.
Fugitive Daisy:
• Fled France in 2007 with Manohara and another daughter Dewi after Saliha made a police report against her and Pinot alleging sexual and physical abuse.
• She was jailed 18 months in absentia while Pinot got four months.
• Indonesian Foreign Minister Hassan Wirajuda has said that he had received a report from the Consulate-General in Marseilles, France, requesting that the Indonesian government assist in getting Daisy to serve the sentence.
• The Consulate-General had made the request involving “sexual abuse” charges that a French court had passed judgment on, on behalf of an Indonesian (Saliha) “whom Manohara’s mother had brought to France”.
• The Ministry’s Foreign Affairs Department, through its Indonesian Citizens’ Protection Directorate, would be in consultation with the Indonesian police headquarters to decide on the next course of action.
