POLICE have identified the remaining members of a terrorist group which a Malaysian shot dead in Davao in the southern Philippines two weeks ago belonged to.

Deputy Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar said police had identified the remaining members, a number of whom were believed to be Malaysians.

DAP national chairman Karpal Singh yesterday “strongly” cautioned Perak DAP cousins Datuk Ngeh Koo Ham and Nga Kor Ming but fell short of asking them to leave the party.

With the general election looming, he said, Ngeh and Nga had to be extra careful in handling political matters and not exploit the party in any way.

"Both of them must be careful when handling political matters, especially with the election around the corner," he said.

OIL companies should give a fair share of their profits from rising fuel prices to petrol station operators who face higher hiring cost with the implementation of mandatory minimum wage from next month, said Federation of Malaysian Consumers Associations (Fomca).

THOSE eligible for the RM200 smartphone rebate — as announced in Budget 2013 — are worried that they may not be able to enjoy the benefit because the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) website has revealed the rebate is meant only for smartphones costing below RM500.

Online portal MSN Malaysia’s editor of technology section, Scott Ng, said the RM500 limit was too low and one just could not get a trustworthy smartphone for less than RM500.

POLICE are looking for a man who alleged that they were responsible for his friend's death during a chase in a special operation to nab snatch thieves and motorcycle offenders.

Petaling Jaya district deputy police chief Supt Tuah Masrom said on Christmas day, around 7.50am, a special task-force consisting three police officers were patrolling the Sri Manja area.

During their rounds, they stumbled upon the two men riding a motorcycle without helmets.

When the police tried approaching them, they sped off and escaped.
