THE MP for Kuantan, Fuziah Salleh has to apologise not only to the residents of Kuantan but to all the citizens in the country on the rare earth project issue by Lynas Advanced Material Plant (LAMP) in the Gebeng industrial area in Pahang.

Several politicians and analysts found that the rare earth project was not an issue after the Kuantan High Court on Nov 8 rejected the interim injunction application on the Temporary Operation Licence by three Kuantan residents.


CONSTRUCTION
of Klang's third bridge to ease traffic congestion into the town would begin early next year.

Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim said the state government had directed the Public Works Department and Klang Municipal Council to make the relevant preparations including calling for the project tender.

"If the tender could be awarded by next February, the project could start after two months," he told reporters after visiting the project site at the Sungai Bertih canal, here today.


A CONSTRUCTION
worker who slipped an fell from a four-storey school building while repairing the roof, died of injuries to his head and body, near here today.

The victim, Baharudin Shafie, 49, died at the scene while carrying out repair works on the roof of Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Pandan, near here, at 10.45am, with two others.

According to his fellow worker, Mohd Zulkifli Jaafar, 32, he, the victim and another worker were commissioned to carry out repairs to the roof of the school and have been working there for the past four days.


THE Home Ministry today confirmed that Mohd Noor Fikrie Abd Kahar, 26, a Malaysian whom police shot dead in Davao, the Philippines, last Friday, was a member of a militant group.

SEPANG
police believe they have solved a murder cum robbery case in Taman Putra Perdana on Dec 8, with the arrest of 10 suspects aged between 17-30 on Thursday, including one suspect who had three previous criminal records.

Selangor deputy CID chief ACP Rosli Mohd Isa said three suspects were arrested in Taman Putra Perdana and another seven in Segamat (Johor), including five who bought the stolen goods.

Police also believe the murder weapon (believed to be a hammer) was also recovered.


DISCIPLINARY
action was taken against 68 personnel, including officers, other ranks and civilian staff of the Sabah Contingent Police Headquarters this year for breaching regulations and discipline.

Sabah Police Commissioner, Datuk Hamza Taib said the action was taken under Regulations 36 and 37 of the Public Officers (Conduct and Discipline) Regulations 1993 after being investigated by the Disciplinary Branch, Contingent Police Headquarters (IPK) Sabah.
