24 days to go to polling day, one can imagine what the country's social media landscape would look like in the days to come.

While the official campaigning period has yet to start, the political war has kicked off with 26 police reports being lodged on slanderous and seditious remarks made on the internet including social networking sites.

 
SO far, 113 police reports have been lodged all over the country regarding the 13th general election since the dissolution of Parliament.

The reports involved small fights, taking down of flags, and also slanderous and seditious remarks made by politicians and supporters.

Bukit Aman public relations officer ACP Ramli Mohamed Yoosuf said 81 reports were received on Tuesday alone.


THREE
secondary school students have been expelled after a video depicting them assaulting another student went viral on the Internet.

The incident, said to have taken place sometime last month became public after it was uploaded on Facebook on Tuesday.

State education director Ahmad Tarmizi Kamaruddin said the victim sustained minor injuries and the trio was suspended after the school was notified of the incident.

Police said it was the second time the man allegedly stole cars from showrooms while out on police bail.

Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, together with two Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) vice-presidents, Nurul Izzah Anwar and Tian Chua, will be defending their respective parliamentary seats in the 13th general election.

Abdul Khalid will defend his seat in Bandar Tun Razak, while Nurul Izzah in Lembah Pantai and Tian Chua in Batu.

The matter was announced by PKR de facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim during a ceramah (political talk) in Bandar Tun Razak here yesterday.


THE
Penang PAS has announced that it would vie for six state seats, an addition of one seat, and two parliamentary seats in the 13th general election.

State PAS Youth chief Yusni Md Piah will stand in the additional seat, Sungai Acheh, while five other candidates will contest in their traditional seats, namely Penaga, Permatang Pasir, Permatang Berangan, Sungai Dua and Bayan Lepas.

Penang PAS Commissioner Datuk Mohd Salleh Man, who announced this tonight, said PAS would also stand in the Kepala Batas and Tasek Gelugor parliamentary seats.

FORMER Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad reminded Barisan Nasional (BN) leaders who are not chosen as candidates for the 13th general election (GE13), to accept the decision with an open heart.


BARISAN NASIONAL
(BN) is expected to announce its candidates for the 13th general election by next Tuesday at the latest.

The announcement is expected to be made by state BN liaison chairmen after BN chairman Datuk Seri Najib Razak handed over the final list of candidates to them by Monday at the latest, according to a party source.

Prior to this, BN secretary-general Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor said that the BN's list of election candidates might be announced within seven to 10 days before the nomination.

As I was going though her profile, I noticed she had posted on her status that she got married on April 8, 2013, despite being happily married for over 20 years.

Being a Facebook novice, I figured she was not familiar with the settings but I couldn't help but to post on her wall asking if she had remarried.
