THE delay in the appointment of councillors for the local authorities in Selangor does not auger well for the administration of the state government.

While some delay may be forgivable as various political parties “jockey” for their favorite candidates, there should never ever be a situation where at any given time a vacuum is created in local government where there are no councillors to serve.
