FOR Christmas, five years ago, 15-year-old Denise Teoh gave her mother, Theresa Goh, a bracelet with a single charm — a red hot chilli pepper.
It was a gift that seemed simple enough to Theresa but Denise had a reason. “For a fiery and feisty mum!” the accompanying card said.
That simple gift got Theresa, a single parent, thinking and she decided to start a charm bracelet that would reflect the journey mother and daughter would be on in life.
“We enjoy doing things together though we’re both on different wavelengths,” Denise, 20, said.
