MALAYSIA is a multiracial country with Islam being the largest practised religion, comprising approximately 61.4 per cent Muslim adherents, or around 17 million people, as of 2010.

RECENTLY, the home minister said that “The Coalition for Clean and Fair Elections”, a coalition of non-governmental organisations better known as Bersih, which seeks to reform the current electoral system to ensure free, clean and fair elections, was no longer considered to have any traction among Malaysians and was no longer considered a threat.

FOR some reason, in Malaysia, the issue of Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals and Transgender (LGBT) is a fanatically discussed topic in some circles. Such has the animosity been that the discussions at times spew hatred. Curious,  I tried to see what the different religious takes have been.

IF the sentiments from Malaysia’s social media practitioners are anything to go by, it appears that more and more Malaysians are beginning to distrust their government.

I THINK it was Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak who first came out with the concept of 1Malaysia which essentially means that all Malaysians no matter the race or religion are all citizens of Malaysia with an equal stake in this country.
