CARRYING the current Ford DNA, the Kuga has slim, long headlamps with a narrow front grille between them. The front bumper carries a wide gaping ‘mouth’ which is shared with the Focus and Fiesta. The clam shell hood recesses neatly and merges with the large windscreen. The side view mirrors are wide offering good side visibility.

Ford announced last week that its Ford Focus was the "world's best-selling vehicle nameplate" in 2012, Toyota quickly responded that the Toyota Corolla was the actual winner. Each car maker sold over a million of their own nameplates and they both want the title.

HONDA has a winner on its hands with the all new CR-V. In just a month from its Malaysian launch, this CR-V has received some 3,000 bookings. This is the highest number of bookings that Honda Malaysia has received for a new car model.

THIS all new 2014 Ghibli was unveiled at the recent Shanghai Motor Show. Targeted at the luxury executive segment which is dominated by the German marques, this Gibli will have a sporty character and will be available with two turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 engines and an 8-speed automatic transmission.

The Ghibli will be sold with a rear-wheel drive system and the new “Q4” all-wheel drive system.

AFTER years of waiting, the much anticipated Honda NSX is confi rmed. The new NSX will come with a low and wide stance and the dynamic proportions of a true supercar.

AUDI AG will be bringing to the global market its smallest sedan, the A3 sedan. Using the successful A3 hatch basics, this new compact luxury sedan will compete for young luxury buyers with the Mercedes-Benz CLA. The A3 sedan is 150mm longer, 11mm wider and 9mm lower than the A3 Sportback.

The sedan’s public debut will be next week at the Shanghai auto show, a nod to Audi’s high hopes for the model in China.

HONDA’S new “EarthDreams” family of engines continue to impress with its effi ciency. This 1.5-liter turbo diesel will be launched on the 2013 Honda Brio Amaze Compact Sedan starting next month and it could be the most effi cient car sold in India. The 1.5 i-DTEC reportedly delivers a reported 26 km/litres, equivalent to 3.8litres/100km.

SUBARU has taken the covers off their all new WRX. Designed to be very different from its former platform-mate, the Subaru Impreza, this WRX is a concept for now but looks very “near production ready”. This WRX Concept’s styling is meant to convey a sense of power and presence, using key design cues like a more prominent grille, hawk-eye headlights and a larger power bulge and intake on the hood.
