Facelift after face-off

KUALA LUMPUR: SOO HAN YEE is demanding a RM388 refund for the facial package she purchased from a skin care centre in a luxury shopping mall in Kuala Lumpur.

The secretary says after purchasing the package, she calls the centre to place a booking for facial and was told to come the following week.

However, SOO, 46, claims she was surprised when informed that will be her second facial.

“I told her I had never utilised the facial package I had purchased, so how can there be a first facial?” she asks but further claims the staff then rudely accused SOO of lying and trying to cheat them.

Feeling humiliated and insulted, she decides to lodge a complaint with the skin care centre office.

There, SOO alleges another staff member was able to confirm, upon checking their records, that SOO had indeed never utilised the facial package there before.

As she felt uncomfortable visiting that outlet again, due to the earlier miscommunication and exchange with the centre’s staff, SOO was advised to transfer her records to the centre’s Sungei Wang outlet.

According to SOO, however, that outlet was always fully booked and so, claims, “after taking this into consideration, I opted to arrange for a refund instead.”

However, she alleges that nobody at skin care centre has been answering her calls ever since.

“So I am now left with a facial package which I cannot use,” she laments.

A SPOKESMAN apologises for the inconvenience caused to SOO and assures its staff has since contacted Soo.

The spokesman states: “We have communicated with SOO and have fixed another appointment with her in our Sungei Wang outlet.

“We thank her for giving us the opportunity to improve our services.”

When contacted, SOO confirms the centre called and apologised to her.

Happy with the way her complaint was handled, SOO says the centre further offered to transfer her record to their Sungei Wang branch, which she accepted.
