Floods: More than 1,200 in Dengkil evacuated

A TOTAL of 1,238 people have been evacuated to eight flood relief centres in Dengkil, Sepang, Selangor today, after their homes were flooded due to heavy rains.

A spokesman from the National Security Council, Prime Minister's Department, said the situation was not life threatening so far.

Among the areas affected were Kampung Semarang, Jalan Kebun, Bukit Changgang and the Kuala Langat area.

Meanwhile, in Kuala Lumpur, the Fire and Rescue Department reported a minor landslide near house No. 12, Jalan Negeri Sembilan, Persiaran Negeri Sembilan.

No casualties were reported however.

While, the Kuala Lumpur City Hall reported several fallen trees in Wangsa Maju, Bukit Tunku and Old Klang Road due to a heavy downpour. -- Bernama
