Let creative academicians lead the way

THERE must be a complete overhaul of our educational system at primary, secondary and tertiary level to bring about the competitive-edge among teachers and students.

We are in a globalised world where we need to equip our citizens with current concepts and tools which are creative and innovative.

We cannot run classes with students sitting back hearing teachers pontificate. We need academicians who are creative, innovative and who engage in continuous learning, in the ever-changing world.

In the process they can also provide insights into affairs currently affecting the nation.

Politicians should be kept away from this system because they have hidden agendas. They don’t always tell the truth.

I feel the time is also right for the government to hold well-organised regular forums on various topics throughout the country to explain and get feedback on issues plaguing the country.
