Nikon launches latest cameras

KUALA LUMPUR: Photo enthusiast are in for a real treat with a new set of Nikon digital single-lens reflex (DSLR) and a range of the latest Coolpix cameras coming to our shores soon.

Nikon Corporation yesterday launched its latest FX-format digital SLR camera, the Nikon D800 and its more advanced variant, the D800E.

The two new DSLR models were unveiled by Nikon Malaysia and Singapore managing director Masanobu Tsunoda.

Tsunoda said users at all levels will experience powerful digital imaging solutions through the advanced technology and design incorporated.

“The D800 is Nikon’s response to demands by advanced amateur photographers and professionals alike for a higher pixel count, better image quality, smaller and lighter DSLR camera that captures still images with superior resolution and records movies with true highdefi nition picture quality.”

The D800 has the world’s highest effective pixel count of 36.3-million pixels, the new EXPEED 3 image-processing engine and a 91K-pixel RGB sensor. The D800E variant is aimed at those demanding even higher definition.

Also launched were the range of Coolpix cameras — the allnew S-Series, the all-new L-Series and the advanced P-Series.

Nikon Malaysia’s consumer products general manager David Ng said: “The price for both the Nikon D800 and D800E will be in the range of RM10,000-RM12,000. The D800 will in stores by end-March and the D800E from April.”

The new Nikon D800 will also be available for testing at the Nikon Centre at Berjaya Times Square next month.
