Playful and stylish headbands

LOCAL fashion label Dude & the Duchess, has collaborated with Kuching-based headband designers Sereni & Shentel to exclusively release “The Duchess” headband which comes in five attractive colours — red, black, electric blue, ginger and nude pink.

Dynamic Sarawakian duo Sereni Linggi and Shentel Lee have been causing a stir in the local fashion arena since 2010 for their creatively unique and unbounded approach to headbands, and their quirky and customisable collection has garnered a growing number of fans here since the headbands trend was kick-started by the Blair Waldorf character, played by Leighton Meester, in the popular on-going US TV series Gossip Girl that began its run since 2007.

“Sereni & Shentel headbands are elegant in design, yet playful in their colours and styles, and these key elements are also found in our The Duchess collection of clothes,” said Jesslyn Leong, creative director of Dude & the Duchess, concerning the collaboration. “The Spring Summer 2012 Collection was styled with their headbands and we saw how wonderfully they worked with our clothes.

In our collaboration for The Duchess headband, we envisioned it as an accessory that someone like Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, would wear.” The Duchess headband is available at RM140, with each beautifully handcrafted using Sereni & Shentel’s signature selection of ribbons and bedazzled gems.

In addition, a selection of Sereni & Shentel’s bestselling headbands in the key colours of the Dude & the Duchess Spring Summer 2012 collection, labelled as “Sereni & Shentel for Dude & the Duchess”, will retail from RM129 to RM269.
