Political crisis in Kedah has nothing to do with Umno

BUTTERWORTH: The ongoing political crisis in Kedah has nothing to do with UMNO or Barisan Nasional (BN), UMNO vice president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal said.

He said UMNO was closely monitoring the situation in Kedah because it was related to UMNO's struggles in Kedah.

"The rift in Kedah among state PAS leaders is true but we will wait and see what happens," he told reporters after launching Penang level Hawkers and Small Traders Day 2012 at Ropewalk Taman Selat, here today.
 
Shafie, the former Umno Liaison Chief for Kedah, said the current situation in the opposition coalition made up of DAP, PAS and Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) was fragile.
