SINGAPORE: Less than a week after Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong launched his Facebook page, Singaporeans now know what their leader eats for dinner: rice, soup, a couple of simple dishes and lots of fruit.

Lee, 60, disclosed the menu in a post on Monday, responding to requests on his Facebook page, which he launched on Friday in a bid to connect with citizens who have increasingly vented their frustrations on social media.

"I am overwhelmed by your response to my FB page," he wrote, noting that the issues raised in comments included "complex, long-term problems" like public transport woes and the rising cost of living.

But he added a lighthearted postscript to the post, which had nearly 3,700 "likes" by late Tuesday afternoon.

"P.S. A few of you have been asking me what I have for dinner. Usually something simple – rice, a couple of dishes, and soup. I also have lots of fruit," he wrote.

A reader named Russell Tan commented: "The food sounds de-LEE-cious."
