SUNGAI BULOH: Two men have been questioned for allegedly spreading rumours that Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Ismail Omar had died in London.

Deputy-Inspector General of Police Datuk Seri Khalid Abu Bakar said both men, in their 30s, were picked up in Penang and Ipoh, Perak separately on Wednesday.

It was reported that text messages were circulated on Monday alleging that Ismail had suffered a heart attack shortly after arriving at Heathrow International Airport in London where he had been invited by the London Metropolitan Police to observe their security measures ahead of the Olympic Games in June.
